Alot of Wine!

On top of a mountain (we took a bunch more pics but its taking a long time to upload so whe we get in a better spot, we'll try uploading more)

Well we made it. We were picked up from Marseille Airport on a huge tour bus. On our way to the riverboat we did the scenic tour with a guide. We were exhausted and it was all we could do not to fall asleep on that bus. We stopped at a town called Les Beaux, which is a town that was actually carved in the side of a limestone mountain, literally. It had a castle, church, hospital, 2 watch towers, etc. Its hard to explain, so I won't. While there, we stopped in a restaurant for lunch, this was our first french food experience which wasn't bad. They served 3 different kinds of wine on the table. I tried all, but only really liked one. Kim still hasn't developed her taste for wine just yet. At least shes trying. Food was ok, fresh tomatos to start out, then lamb for the main course which tasted like roast to me, and 3 different homemade sorbets (peach, cherry, and lemon) for dessert.

After lunch, they finally took us to the riverboat where we will be staying the next 8 days before we go to Paris. The boat is small but nice and the rooms are definately small but nice as well. Dinner was amazing! There were 5 courses to dinner: Soup in a shot glass (celery soup) Kim had an extra bowl of that, salad, soup again, main entree (I had pan fried perch, which was excellent and Kim had chicken marsalis) and dessert which was creme broulee and rhubarb ice cream with homemade whipped cream both of which were great! Yes people, I (the picky eater) tried everything. They serve wine from that days port and alot of it. After dinner there was live music in the lounge with more wine. We figured out we are going to really love or really hate wine after this experience is over. After last night though, you would have thought we loved it.

Today we will be touring Arles and then we will actually set sail tonight.

Oh and to keep up with our idiocy theme, here is a list of things that have went wrong so far:

-Blew a circuit in our stateroom

-took kim 5 minutes to figure the lock situation on the door to let people in

-took the wrong adapter for the plug outlets here (thankfully the boat people saved us)

-Nicole's straightening iron does not work here...so when you see pics with her with hair all frizzy and out of control, you know why

-had way too much wine last night

Stay tuned more later....
PS... Hey Mom, kim said to tell you we talked to 10 strangers today and nobody sold us into the sex trade!!
