Paul Bocuse

Morning! We are currently in Macon, France. Thats pronounced "May-Cone", not "Maken", like us Kentucky folks say! Yesterday we had the most unique experience ever, so lets talk about it!

We slept in a little yesterday as we were in Lyon. We got up, Kim had a little work to do and I sat out on the skydeck enjoying the sun. We had lunch on the boat, the we we decided to venture out on our own and walk the streets of Lyon. Let us just say that city is amazing. There wasn't much going on on the streets as on Sundays, pretty much everything closes. We stopped at a cafe to have a drink and people watch for awhile. This is just a totally different experience than people watching back home. After this, it was time to get back on the boat as we were sailing off to have the greatest dinner ever! The sail from Lyon to the resteraunt was incredible. I will talk about it when we get home, because I want to get this post done early.

Trustmark arranged for the whole boat to have dinner at the most famous resteraunt in all of Europe. World Famous Chef, Paul Bocuse's resteraunt. Come to find out people have to wait a year just to be able to dine at one of his resteraunts. That is how famous he is, and Trustmark booked the resteraunt just for us! Again, Paul Bocuse is the most famous chef not just in France, but in all of Europe. Google him. Chef Bocuse was actually at the resteraunt and posed for pictures with everyone, and it was really an amazing experience. Before we left for the restraunt, Trustmark said no money was to be exchanged and any drink was covered.

Dinner, was in one word, phenomenal! We started off with strawberrty champagne, a cream soup, then came lobster bisque, which in my opinion, was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. To go with the bisque, they brought a white wine. After the bisque, they brought out a red wine to go with the main entree which was Veal, and it was excellent. After that came chocolate candies, then chocolate mousse, which melted in your mouth. After that we had a plate of 3 different kinds of cheese (YUK!). Dessert was fresh strawberries with whip cream which once again was out of this world. We took pictures of each course, just to show you how fantastic it was. Boy, we are from Kentucky, aren't we? Ha Ha! We hung out in the restraunt for awhile just enjoying the atmosphere. Marcus ordered himself and one of our other dinner companions a "port wine". We didn't have any of this, but to come to find out it costs roughly 65 euro a glass

After dinner, it was time to head to the lounge for some live music and dancing. It was a great day. Now we are in Macon, as today we are supposed to be doing an actual wine tasting excursion. Like we haven't had enough wine already!! Today is also the last day on the boat, and there is a huge gala scheduled for tonight! We leave for Paris tomorrow, and we can't wait!!

Anyway, more later, stay tuned....
