Continuation of Day 5...Lyon.

Sidenote...scroll down to see days 1-5 pics....

Ok, so here we are with a continuation of Day 5. After we left Vienne, we sailed to France's 2nd largest city, Lyon (pronounced "lee-own"). Again, scroll down to the post "Just say no to B.O." to learn more. As we said in the post, instead of doing the shopping excursion, Kim changed our minds, and opted for the sightseeing excursion instead. I have to say, I am glad she changed my mind....So, we boarded the coach and snapped these pics....

Massive cemetary in the heart of Lyon...

Remember in the post, we talked about Anthony's home...Well here it is, the baliska...

Again....

In front of the giant baliska...

Inside...

Again...

yep....

and again....by the way, that is Anthony in the left hand corner...
-

After we left the Baliska, it was on to get a panoramic view of the city...

We both agree, this is a terrible picture...don't even bother turning your computer around...

I know many of you have wanted to see a pic of the guys, so here you go.....Our new found friends, Anthony from New Jersey (left) and Marcus from Hamburg, Germany (right). Anthony was the producer for the trip and he called his friend Marcus to join him. They are definately not a couple, just really good friends.

A panaromic view of the city. Click on it to enlarge.

Truly amazing....

After this, it was time for more sightseeing of the streets, check it out...we got to this masterpiece of a building that was actually refurbished by a bunch of art students. They painted characters all over the wall, and when anyone asked about it, they would paint that person onto this building. When they ran out of space, they built a mirror so everyone can be on it. It is something you really have to see in person, our pictures will not do it justice, but check them out anyway....Click on each to get a better idea...

I'm not even going to try to describe it...

Again...

and again...

crazy, right??

nuts...

Ok, so after gooing over this for awhile, it was time for the four of us to hop off the bus and explore on our own....Here are the pics...

Shopping street, busy day...

Jordan, we took this just for you....they even have a Claire's in France...and from the looks of it, it is just as cramped as it is in the states...

Kim taking it all in...

First gorgeous day of the year evidently in Lyon, and everyone was out...
-

Ok, after walking the streets, it was time to find a cafe and have a drink...Here ya go..

Our view from the cafe....

Click on this one....you will see the mentally ill/homeless person (in the skirt) entertaining us until the waiter chased him off because he was begging for money...

walking back to the boat to change for dinner...

So the next day we were still in Lyon, and Kim and I took off on our own to walk the streets one last time...

This is the place Nicole found her straightener!! It's Sunday and everything is closed now....
